Christmas Update December 25th 2009

Well it's Christmas, I hope you all had some time with your families. You should thankful they are not trying to devour your flesh right now, well that is except for uncle George that toothless bastard... Anyway this update is brought to you by copious amounts of caffeine and love. (though mostly the caffeine) I've got a bag of presents that is just ready to be opened although I lost the receipts, sorry you can't return them.

Happenings
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of progress on the coding front. Ssba has implemented a barricading system, added our custom zombies, our custom world sounds among many other additions. Our mappers as well have gotten their maps to a very fun playable state. Crazymatt just this last week went through and touched up the textures on all of our zombie models and nearly finished his next character. Maxx completed yet another awesome weapon the SKS, (see below) he is how working on few props and a bus model. Vincent074 has created two very nice models, an ambulance & barricade which you can see below. This is just the tip of the iceberg everyone on the team has been really busy working on content for the mod before the holidays.

Weekly Update - December 16th, 2009

Team Updates
It's that time again little boys and girls. Good news this week with finals over and the holidays upon us. It's time for the holidays and with holidays comes presents, so just hop in our van for something a little special on the 25th. Don't be scared, don't you like presents? Well lets see what everyone is up to shall we? Sotapoika has been going through and fixing bugs in map NMRiH_quarantine which as of late has been looking very nice. Chad has nearly finished the Ruger 1022 animations. Maxx has finished his Van, has started on a bus and plans to make an SKS soon. Vincent is just adding the final touches to an ambulance and his sports car. Flea has just finished his portfolio for college and is now starting work on his map.

Well then lets get right down to it! If you remember correctly, I mentioned Maxx was working on a van model last week. Well here it is in all its free sugary glory. This is just one texture of many variant textures and crashed versions. So you may expect many different types through out our maps with different logos and colors.

Weekly Update - December 9th, 2009

As I sit here in my friends apartment at 5AM listening to his neighbors upstairs pounding on the floor playing rockband (or having very fast and repetitive sex to rock music?) They've been at it since about 3:30 and well I can't sleep, I've tried writing this update a few times now but keep getting interrupted so now is a good a time as any.

Small announcement about weekly updates
Well it's time once again for our weekly scheduled update, except for the part about the schedule. If you haven't noticed its Friday Saturday Sunday oh hey it's already Wednesday again, and it seems that I have had less and less time on Mondays due to various factors. (School, Life, Finals, Etc.) Which means for the next few weeks I may be switching the update schedule around to find a good fit. Well this last week was Thanksgiving for those you in the States, Uhh yeah anyway hope you all had a good Thanksgiving...

NMRiH News
Now onto NMRiH related news. We recently hired a new mapper/modeler to the team. So I would like you all to give a big warm welcome to Vincent074. He has already jumped right into working on the mod. With his map layout all planned out and a custom prop already completed in just one week he as proven himself to be a valued addition to the team. Our other modelers it seems have been working on some fresh new car models. Maxx completed a new van recently, Vincent is working on a Lamborghini and Surfa is working on an Audi.

Weekly Update - November 18th, 2009

November 19th, 2009 by Dman757 Very informal update this week since I have very little time between writing term papers and studying for finals.

First off, I forgot to mention this last week but CrazyMatt has set up a livestream account in which you can watch him work on models, play moves, crysis or whatever he is up to, So be sure to check it out. He isn't on all the time so pay attention to his devlog (if he ever makes one) for announcements or just pop in from time to time. I thought about doing something similar on livestream while back but then I realized no one wants to watch me fumble around putting an update together each week. Then I was sad, though you should always look on the bright side that is unless you try only too hard only find out your shoulder is fractured... Well as some of you might know Maxx attempted to make his triumphant return this week but alas some unnoticed fractures in his shoulder kept him down again while he rests his arm in a sling. Though before he noticed the fracture he had started working on a new prop model for a Van.... (Cars: 2 Maxx: 0) Anyway, our mapping/modeling teams have been pumping out quite a bit of props recently so we thought to show some off so check the image below.

Surfa put together this image with an accumulation of the props he has crafted so far just to show of we aren't straying away from our goal to create custom content.

Weekly Update - November 9th, 2009

November 9th, 2009 by Dman757 Small update this week just a few announcements on what we've been doing this week.

Happenings
Well first off, though you might have heard, Maxx is a little concussed right now after getting hit by a car on his way back from work this past week. That hasn't stopped him from keeping in contact with us and keeping things running smoothly. Just means he gets a well deserved break while he recovers, so send him your best. Now on the rest of the mod team, we've been working on various aspects of the mod. Chad509 and Sharkdog have been working on animations for the 1911 and flashlight. Our animation and modeling departments have been working together to get custom props and maps together. The sound department has been working on music and some more cryptic recordings from frantic people. SickJoe has been working on getting a job by spiffing up his portfolio. (wish him luck!) Crazymatt has just shown me his new start on his new character model after one of SickJoe's are pieces. (I'll give you a hint hes wearing a baseball cap)


Website
I've been working on the website this weekend to get all our new content up to on there and up to date. Well it is nearly finished, I had hoped to get it all done in time for the update but expect it 100% by next week. As for now all weapons, concept art, and wallpapers are up to date music/maps/in game screen shots once I sort through them all are next. On a side note Xendrid has created alternate sizes of his wallpaper compiling many of SickJoe's concept pieces. Check out the links below or the front page under the files section.

October 31st, 2009 by Dman757 Ahoy ye zombie lovers I`ve got some nice booty fer ye today! What wi' all them flesh eat'n beings wonderin' around ye be needin' some weapons t' protect ye selves! Thats jus' what we be havin' fer ye.

First up we be havin' a mighty fine pistol! Skillfully crafted by a darn good smith from th' cold country known as Canada.


Ah an` here we be havin` an right powerful boomstick known as a "Shotgun." The craftsman known only as th' "Insane Flea."


Oh a darn beauty o` a six shooter here! This be sure t' put down them cursed flesh eatin' monsters. Now I don't know what a Surfa be but one o' them made this shooter.



Newly posted bounty`s ben posted in these areas fer th' first landlubbers t' clear ou' any infected mongrels ye can find! If ye happen t` be in one o` these areas beware o' th' walkin' dead.



Now be weary this Halloween night I hear all sorts o' tales o' dreaded gouls wonderin' th' streets.

Weekly Update - October 27th 2009

Getting this update out has been troublesome to say the least with computer failures, internet blackouts, browsers crashing and the like. Anyway this is the second time I have had to write this update, sorry if I don't seem that enthused. Hallows eve is just around the corner, with a few surprises in store along with our monthly scheduled audio update. Next week we will have three separate releases from dawn to dusk to keep you satisfied all day long. Well, enough about next week lets see what we have to say this week.

So here is the rundown:
Chad has started working on our chainsaw animations which are coming along quite well. Maxx has nearly finished his Colt1911, just a few final touch ups to the textures to go. CyanideCotdPnut has started working on a female character model, a zombie stripper. Inzaneflea just had his 21st birthday, yet that hasn't stopped him from texuring his Remington 870 Marine Magnum. SotaPoika keeps pumping out great custom textures as well as working on his map. (nmrih_quarantine) Surfa is a few tweaks away from being able to show off his Smith & Wesson. I've been looking into doing a live audio update some time in the near future, no promises but we will see but I have also been working on the story some more as you saw last week, just wait and see whats in store. That about sums this week up, now for a little treat.

Well here is a little piece of art SickJoe made was an idea for a in game title screen but he scrapped it. Though as a little early Halloween treat I decided to to show it to you all.



In closing I have been considering changing up the update schedule a tad bit, not sure if I will or not but just as a heads up.
